| In oil paintings and photographs Celia expresses her wonder at the powerful playful eroticism of the human form.
"Everyone remarked that my flower paintings were so vaginal" Celia recounts; "I figured I might as well paint the real thing, too. Now I paint vaginas and half the people don't know what they are! 'You could really go into that space,' -- Yes, you could" Celia responsds. Developing from the vagina series are the recent 'Wave Paintings.' Abstracted from the human form, these works show the vital link between Celia's vision of nature: human, plant, land and sea. |
